BIO
For 25 years, Shari Lynn Rothstein-Kramer has been on staff and/or freelancing for various magazines in Manhattan, NY and though out Florida. After serving as editorial director of BIZBASH Florida, an event industry magazine and website, she opened SLK Creative, a North Miami Beach-based PR, marketing, branding & imaging agency that specializes in the special events and hospitality industries. She not only does intensive media outreach for multiple companies that create special events but also creates and manages their brands and personal images – in real life and online.
Shari travels nationwide giving seminars on public relations, marketing, branding, special events, relationship building, how to write award winning award submissions, social media, and much more.
A big believer in giving back, Shari is the PR Director for two different charities – Wish Upon a Wedding South FL Chapter, which is a national charity that grants wishes to the terminally ill and Operation Outreach, a three-month old event professional-based organization that helps those who’ve lost everything via natural disaster by designing and refurnishing their homes. Using furnishings donated by predominantly event and hospitality professionals and expert event designers, OO rebuilt the lives of two families in NOLA this past summer. By installing all new … well, everything…. our goal is to give them new furnished homes and even more so, hope.
Additionally, Shari writes for two newspapers in Florida; she is the food writer for the Aventura News and the Aventura columnist for the Biscayne times. Currently residing in Aventura, Shari has just completed two books - Love, Life, & Other Mundane Evils, a book of Poetry; and 100 Life Changing Experiences, a quick, feel good read along the lines of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series.
When she’s not working, Shari loves traveling, writing, public speaking, cooking, ingredients, and all things food-related boating, shopping, and walking. Painting, her most recent hobby focuses on large-scale abstracts. They are starting to fill the walls of her loft-style condo, which she shares with her husband, Ian, her Yorkie, Tika, and their two cats Hemi and Olivera. Her love of quiet time and adventure, singing and poetry, mentoring and learning make her an interesting person to meet – you never know what to expect. There is nothing she will not try once (twice if she likes it, she always says) and believes that being kind, fair, inquisitive, and passionate are some of the most important traits a person can possess. Giving back to community and those less fortunate are true keys to good karma. And good karma, she believes, is everything.
