Where do you find inspiration?
My inspiration comes mostly from my clients – their stories, their lives and their individual personalities. I enjoy blending those to create an event that can’t be replicated for how it feels – the look can be replicated, but not the heart behind it.

What excites you most about the year ahead in the events industry or your personal business?
I’m most excited about being able to make key changes in the expansion of our business and the opportunities that I have to educate my peers. 

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
“Different isn’t always better” – it makes me question a new design for an event and determine if I’m doing it to be different or to make the design better.

What do you hope attendees will take away from your session?
The ability to incorporate color & their client’s personality into a cohesive event and realize that color isn’t 100% about trends but is about how they make us feel.

Sasha Souza is one of the premiere event designers and a top innovator in the wedding industry. Sasha is the recipient of numerous awards including the Special Events Magazine Gala Award winner for “Best Dining Tabletop Design”, Event Solutions Magazine “Designer of the Year” and three ISES Westie Awards and was named by Modern Bride magazine as a “Top 25 Trendsetters” in the wedding design industry. Souza’s first book Signature Sasha:  Magnificent Weddings by Design (Beaufort Books, January 2010 release) is a stunning, hard cover wedding design book featuring beautiful photography of all aspects of wedding design including never before seen Sasha Souza Events real weddings.

Sasha is a regularly featured media celebrity wedding and event designer and she is a regular speaker for Event Solutions, Eventology and ISES events across the U.S. and Canada, and speaks internationally which has taken her as far a Tokyo, Japan to talk about the hottest trends in event design. Sasha believes strongly in giving back to the community that has provided so much for her. Since 2008, she has been the Events Chair for the SEARCH Foundation and is now serving on the Executive Committee and most recently has taken on the very important role as Founding President of Wish Upon A Wedding. Wish Upon A Wedding is the nation’s only wedding wish granting non-profit for couples facing terminal illness.
